wait...what happen ...
wait...what happen to those illiofemoral/ischiofemoral,pubofemoral ligaments? wouldn't you? dislocate your femoral head without them? i know ur muscles still hold them in place but still...the second thing is what happen to the synovial fluid? without it will it be easy to articulate? and since the neck of the femur is sawed off what happen to all the anastomoses of arteries? i am so confused...one reason why i should never have studied medicine...

Please if posible ...
Please if posible do not get the hip replacement , suffer the pain? as long as you can. I have had three hip replacements and now for the past 5 yrs. I have not had a hip and I am unable to walk....the surgeries failed and my hip was removed and not replaced....three stikes and you are out.
I really appreciate ...
I really appreciate my surgeon who did #1 in 2005 and will be doing #2 now. I am scheduling this one sooner. I had double slippage of capital epihyses following sledding at 12 I thought I was invincible after surgeries to stabliize them with corrugated pins. Consequently, the ancient burred up? 1963 three pins in the right hip took 6 hours to remove. We will all know better with this one. I'll be missing Zumba for a good while. Hate that! Hate unrelenting pain more.
@444719abcx That ...
@444719abcx That goes without saying, no one goes in for surgery such as this unless it's necessary. Slight discomfort is easy to live with but severe? pain isn't. This procedure is for those who need it and only the patient is the one who can make that determination.
@sourdough51 Of ...
@sourdough51 Of course there are millions of successful surgeries but they are to be avoided at all costs until they are really necessary and only? after all other therapies have failed. Thanks for your posting. Jacques

@tashamahal Just as ...
@tashamahal Just as an update, almost 8 weeks now and I got back on my stationary bike at 4 weeks
(carefully) riding 30 minutes a day.@ 5 weeks I'm riding my motorcycle again pain free which was one of the main reasons for the surgery (pain free riding). After? I've been sitting for 20 min. & get up to walk, I do limp a little, but it goes awayafter about 10 or 12 steps. Every week I can feel the mobility and flexibility come back, so I say again if you need it get a reputable Dr and do it!
@sourdough51 Thank ...
@sourdough51 Thank you, whoever you are, for making it seem? less terrifying. Now I just have to find a doctor that my insurance will accept. You've taken away much of my anxiety over it. Good luck to you.

I was sedated and given a spinal tap and felt nothing as I? was numb from the waist down. The muscle is sewn back together internally and on the surface they used steri strips to hold the incision closed. They're small strips of tape that eventually wear off (in about three weeks) no external stiches at all. The most important of the recovery is to not exceed 90 degrees from your femur to your torso which risks dislocation but it's also painful to exceed it. Do it if you need
